Akun Twitter resmi untuk franchise anime Sword Art Online mengumumkan malam ini bahwa series film Progressive, yang merupakan penceritaan ulang dari arc pertama dalam franchise berdasarkan novel ringan yang ditulis oleh Reki Kawahara, akan mendapatkan film kedua pada tahun 2022, dengan subjudul “Scherzo of Deep Night,” nama alur cerita dari series level 5 di dalam novel ringan Sword Art Online Progressive keempat.
Film pertama, Sword Art Online The Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night, dirilis di Jepang pada hari Sabtu dan mengungkapkan film kedua selama teaser di akhir film, menunggu hingga Senin untuk mengumumkan beritanya.
Yen Press merilis novel ringan Sword Art Online Progressive dalam bahasa Inggris, dengan perusahaan menggambarkan volume keempat sebagai berikut:
“It’s been just two months since they were trapped in the game of death that is Sword Art Online, and Kirito and Asuna continue their struggle at the vanguard of progress through the game.
